We must be doing something right!
The 2016 Summer Intensive flew by and we are thrilled to announce that it was our largest summer class in over 20 years. Students came through the red doors from all over the US and as far away as New Zealand to discover The Meisner Technique here on 54th Street where it all began. Our veteran teachers worked diligently with the group and the student response was overwhelmingly positive.
“It was a truly wonderful experience and I am incredibly humbled by the caliber and generosity of all the teachers.
I only have positive memories to share with anyone thinking about the summer program.” ~ Summer ’16 Student
Summer ‘16: Voice & Speech with Gary Ramsey & Colleen Smith Wallnau
“I was over the moon when I got accepted into New York's prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre Summer Intensive Program at the beginning of the year. Having just completed the program I was blown away by my experience. All the teachers and classes exceeded my expectations, the course was fun but very challenging making sure all students were getting the most from the classes and themselves. I now feel part of the Playhouse family and feel connected to the rich history of the school. I would highly recommend the Playhouse's summer intensive or full time course to any aspiring artist.” ~ Summer ’16 Student
Due to their wonderful experience in the Summer Intensive, almost a third of this special group have put in applications for the full time conservatory program.
We are delighted to add these wonderful candidates to our pool of applicants who have come to us from our Open Houses, recruiting trips, and most especially from our reputation and word-of-mouth from those who know us best.
The 2016-17 first year class will be “cast” soon and we’re very excited to continue our tradition of excellence in actor training.
