The Neighborhood Playhouse Sum2015: Special Events, 69th Tony Awards, and more...
Our 2015 Summer Six Week Intensive is in full swing with students from near and far gathered to study the Meisner Technique here at The Neighborhood Playhouse. There are still some spaces in the full-time conservatory first-year program for Fall 2015, so please help spread the word to any serious, talented prospective students.
Many thanks to our faculty member Douglas J. Cohen for arranging for our recent grads and faculty to attend this year’s 2015 Theatre World Awards at the Lyric Theatre earlier this week. A very exciting evening indeed, with many moving and inspirational speeches. As it turns out, our recent graduates were also invited to attend the live taping of Jim Parsons (Emmy winner and currently on Broadway in the critically acclaimed An Act of God) interview with James Lipton at Pace University on the same evening. It was a tough choice, but both events were an enriching experience for all who attended.
Our 2015-2016 Outreach calendar of recruitment events is in full swing as we begin to plan which cities to visit. Those here in New York intersted in learning more about the school can attend Open House on Thursday, July 9th @ 6:30pm. Stay tuned for specific dates and locations.
We excitedly turn our attention to the 69th Annual Tony Awards this Sunday. This year is particularly exciting for us as Hand to God and Something Rotten are both up for multiple Tony Awards AND the producer of BOTH shows is Mr. Kevin McCollum. Mr. McCollum was our inspirational and eloquent speaker at our Graduation event May 13th at The Players’ Club. Bravo, Kevin!
